The Essential Guide to Garment Rails and Their Uses
Posted On: January 15, 2022 By: blueprint_admin
One of the most versatile pieces of shopfitting equipment is the garment rail. They have numerous uses within a retail environment and come in an array of styles and types to suit your needs. From robust garment rails for displaying those heavy duty items to smaller, more delicate versions that you can easily wheel in and out of conference centres when attending fairs and other events. This guide to garment rails will help you pick the right clothing rails for your purposes. Of course, you can get a wide range of clothes rails for your shop, pop-up or mobile business from The Retail Factory.
Standard Garment Rails
A standard garment rail features the classic design. Two uprights are connected with two crossbars, one at the top and one at the bottom. This is a staple of clothing stores around the world and allows customers to browse through the garments on display.
Our standard rails feature wheels at the bottom, making it easy for you to move around your shop displays and to move your stock around if you attend external events.
Fishtail Rails
Fishtail rails are similar to standard rails, but do not feature wheels. Instead, they stand on a splayed stand that looks like a fishtail, hence the name. These rails do not move as easily when customers lean on them. This makes them a great suggestion for stores where the displays do not move around as much.
If you are confident that you want to keep your shop display static for a while, fishtail rails provide a sturdy structure for showing off the clothing you have for sale.
Reinforced Rails
Reinforced clothes rails are strengthened on the uprights to allow you to display the heavier items that you carry in store. This might be big winter coats, wedding dresses or anything else that would put a regular clothes rail under strain.
They come in a range of sizes and finishes and are able to be used outside if required, ensuring that they have the correct wheels attached.
Reinforced garment rails are easy to assemble, but tough enough to withstand heavy use with weighty clothing items.
Parallel Rails
These garment rails feature the same base as a regular clothes rail, but provide two parallel rails at the top so that you can hang two rows of items side-by-side. If you have limited space inside your shop, parallel rails are perfect as they take up the same footprint as a regular garment rail, but can carry twice the number of items for sale.
Junior Rails
Junior rails are perfect for displaying children’s clothing and there are two types from which to choose. The traditional junior rail is one that is simply like a standard garment rail, but shorter to accommodate browsing kids. The other option is the junior waterfall clothes rail. This slopes from high to low rather than remaining at the same level. You can hang the sizes for older children at the highest end, leading to the versions for younger kids at the other end. Hanging pins keep the products in place.
A waterfall rail ensures all ages can reach the appropriate sizing and prevents the larger items from dragging on the floor.
